Workout Routine

Basically, my workout routine is the "Boxer's routine" like what coach Mario told me.

Like in my previous post I usually stay in the gym for 2 to 3 hours depending on the coach I'm with. If I'm with Coach Mario I usually spend 2hrs and a half. My routine is pretty much simple. I believe almost all students in the gym are doing the same routine. But it depends on their needs. As for me, I want to be toned and lose some of my belly fat. Here is the list of my routine:

1. Stretching

Usually Coach Mario doesn't give his students stretching time in the beginning. He goes straight to cardio. In my first session with him, I got severe headache and pain in the back. Thanks to google I am now starting my every session with Coach with a stretch customized by myself.

Excuse my sweaty look :P

2. Cardio
The gym is specialized for Boxers, Muay Thai students and Fighters so they don't have treadmill or any heavy gym equipment. But they have few weights to strengthen legs, abs, arms and fist. Basically, they don't have a treadmill so to make my heart go pumping. Coach Mario asked me to do rounds in there small boxing ring. I go jogging for 6 minutes and ropes for another 6 minutes.

3. Boxing Session
This is the exciting part and this happens for 6 to 8 sessions (3 minutes for each session). With my Coach, boxing is more than simple punches. I also do kicks, knees and elbow. He also taught me how to defend myself during attacks.

4. Speed ball, hanging ball and punching bags
This goes every after boxing session with Coach. He asks me to do speed ball, hanging ball and punching bags for 2 rounds each consisting of 3 minutes each.

5. Weights
Next to boxing session, weights are my favorite. It gives me motivation to be fit since I can feel the burn in my muscles in every session. I do weights for my arms, thighs and hips. My coach knew that I needed to work on them that's why I do weights :P lol

I usually do the 10 pounds

6. Abs
I know that my gym session is almost over when Coach asked me to do abs workout. I usually do the basic abs workout for this one 30 times each.

I don't have a video or picture of me doing abs exercises but this one is closer to what I do

7. Stretching
Stretching and massages are usually done by Coach Mario. I believe all boxers are given stretching and massages every after session. The Coaches are usually the one doing this. You can ask your coach or trainer to give you as well every after session if he/she haven't given you yet.

Well that's all for my workout routine. How about you what is your workout routine? Do you have something to share?

Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed it.

Love lots,
Seline :)

How do I balance my life?

For a person to have a balanced life I believe that we should know how to weigh our priorities without jeopardizing others. As a student, employee, daughter, sister and girlfriend. I honestly have a hard time to do so. Four years ago I've decided to balance my life so I divided all my priorities into five: 1. Physical Physical priorities will be the things and activities that will help me improve physically. In one of my previous post I mentioned that I go to the gym. That is one thing for me to balance myself. Other activities might be joining fun runs, eating healthy foods, drinking 8 glasses of water everyday, 6 to 8 hours of sleep everyday, delegating "me time" part of the week and many more. I started small by exercising 15 minutes every morning and then later I joined the gym for boxing. The good thing about setting a priority for this activity is that I am not only exercising I am also learning self defense. 2. Spiritual Spiritua...

My BLEPP 2018 - Registered Psychometrician Journey

This year has been a roller coaster ride for me. Little people know that I am actually reviewing for my board exam while having my thesis writing 1, comprehensive exam and working at the same time. Only a few people know that I'm planning to take the boards and they all thought that it was a career and educational suicide. I can still remember my sister telling me that it was like a double edge sword. If I fail in my board exam my self-esteem will be jeopardized that will cause decrease performance on my comprehensive exam and thesis writing 1, and will probably affect my work - because of depression? I think. I honestly don't care anymore. I've been dreading to do this for years and now I am tired of being afraid. I am ready to do it now.  Graduate School Comprehensive Exam - My folder Five years of fight or flight Reviewing for my boards - downloaded since I'm on self-review I graduated from college 5 years ago - May of 2013 to be exact...
